Have you ever started your computer and received a warning pop-up that said “Insecure Startup Items folder detected“?

The problem seems to be an obvious issue with your /Library/StartupItems folder. Somehow, the permissions may have changed, and you need to correct them.

– Browse to your /Library/StartupItems folder
– Right-click the folder and choose Get Info
– Click the small lock icon on the bottom right of the StartupItems Info window (enter your password)
– Make sure your permissions are set to the following

• system: Read & Write
• wheel: Read only
• everyone: Read only
