I’m currently running macOS High Sierra and copy/paste would stop working within certain windows. I was able to find a temp fix without having to restart my computer.

Using Activity Monitor

Launch Activity Monitor

Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor

Search for PBoard and Force Quit it. It will automatically re-launch itself.

Using Terminal

killall pboard
